The guys on NBC Sports were very surprised that Bishop wasn't on the list. Milbury was very complimentary about Ben and thought that Team USA was making a mistake by picking Howard over Bishop. They were showing highlights of Ben and the lowlights of Howard and saying WTH was USA thinking picking him over Bishop.

If Bishop isn't picked for team USA and Marty and Stammer are on team Canada, I'm going to find it hard to be patriotic when I watch that game.

Truth be told, if Bish is snubbed, you may not have to worry all that much.

Team USA's alledged lineup does not exactly give me a lot of confidence

I wouldn't be too upset if Bishop doesn't make the team. The third goalie doesn't really do a lot and I'm pretty sure they don't get much practice time either. So him being able to stay home and keep training and working out constantly over break might actually be better.

Kevin Allen posted his picks for Team USA and for the most part, he's been spot on before

Left wings: 1. Zach Parise (Minnesota Wild). 2. James van Riemsdyk (Toronto Maple Leafs). 3. Dustin Brown (Los Angeles Kings). 4. Max Pacioretty (Montreal Canadiens).

Centers: 1. Ryan Kesler (Vancouver Canucks). 2. Joe Pavelski (San Jose Sharks). 3. David Backes (St. Louis Blues). 4. Paul Stastny (Colorado Avalanche).

Right wings: 1. Patrick Kane (Chicago Blackhawks). 2. Phil Kessel (Toronto). 3. Ryan Callahan (New York Rangers). 4. T.J. Oshie (St. Louis).

Extra forwards: Blake Wheeler (Winnipeg Jets) and Derek Stepan (Rangers).

Defensemen: 1. Ryan Suter (Minnesota). 2. Paul Martin (Pittsburgh Penguins). 3. Ryan McDonagh (Rangers). 4. Cam Fowler (Anaheim Ducks). 5. Brooks Orpik (Pittsburgh). 6. Kevin Shattenkirk (St. Louis). 7. Justin Faulk (Carolina Hurricanes). 8. Jack Johnson (Columbus Blue Jackets).

Goaltenders: 1. Ryan Miller (Buffalo Sabres). 2. Jonathan Quick (Los Angeles). 3. Jimmy Howard (Detroit Red Wings).

Quote:
In net, Miller is ahead of Quick based on his international body of work and the fact that Quick is currently injured. But Quick might well be first in line when the Olympics begin. Howard has been in a slump of late, but he gets the nod because he's an established NHL goalie with international experience. Ben Bishop (Tampa Bay Lightning) is enjoying a stellar season, but this is his first full season as an NHL starter.

Miller, Quick, Howard. Bishop did not make the team.

The only one Kevin Allen got wrong was John Carlson instead of Jack Johnson.

Apparently we're sending a bunch of little kids and only 3 actual adult players to Sochi, and the Olympics are either next week or next year according to Jeremy Roenick.

On a more serious note. No Yandle? No Ryan? WTF..

Good. I do not have a good feeling about these Olympics. I know it is an honor to play for your country but I do not think Russia can protect the players nor the visitors from the violence.

Hoping it won't matter and the USA still brings home the gold, but that team doesn't inspire a ton of confidence in me. It has no where near the top flight skill of teams like Canada, Russia, and Sweden.

Not to mention Orpik over Yandle, Big Buff, or Erik Johnson is beyond laughable
