Having too much young talent? What a nice problem to have.
Let's not forget Thompson as well - I'm a fan of his, but no reason to etch his name in concrete on the 4C slot past 1-2 seasons from now.

There's no reason to lock Filppula into the C slot for the next 5 years. He can play any of the forward position.

Except we're even deeper at wing than we are at center.

With Pyatt injured it would leave the team with exactly 12 forwards who can play, he'll probably stay for the forseeable future unless they think he'll be better served playing in Syracuse while they call up a vet for 4th line duty.

Well done, tnw. Well done. It became evident years ago when I turned in my badge and gun, the web is no place for language cops--of any variety. No amount of kevlar can protect you

Thanks. I hope he can get his game going and enjoy the stay.

Back to my question, is there a place for Connolly on this team moving forward?

I'm having a difficult time seeing where he slots in down the line.

I agree. That's why I thought he'd be moved this summer for a defenseman. That may still happen in the second half of this year if the Lightning are in playoff contention. We have the cap room to make that move.
