It squelch's the argument for selecting Drouin over Jones because of instant ROI. I think everyone prefers that someone get dealt to make room for him, it isn't doing much for his growth.

I think Connolly is just a better player for Tampa right now, period. There is no need in bringing Drouin in to make mistakes and get outmuscled and potentially lose confidence during this season in the NHL. If it took Stamkos 1/2 a season to catch up, I'm thinking you're looking at that minimum for Drouin this year and there just isn't a need for him yet.

Like I said in my original post, I wouldn't be surprised to see him for the first couple games to take a look against NHL players, but I think ultimately he goes back to junior to learn to play center and grow.

Connolly deserves it. Flat out.

The caveat, however, is Cooper's track record with developing young players. Would Drouin stand to gain more by working directly with the Lightning than he would in the Q? Obviously it comes down to roster spots, but it's an interesting question.

I say it has to be who makes this team better now.

But Drouin should still get his 9-game looksee, right?

Someone who's not waiver-eligible can surely go down to Syracuse for a couple of weeks, although I'm not sure who that is.

Default Crunch

Tyrell could probably slip down given his injury history, Nacho could go back also. I don't think the roster is set yet, there are a couple of teams with cap problems that may have to shed Dmen so there may be something in the works or maybe not...ask SFY.

Aaaaand, he's back in Halifax. Smart move, considering all the circumstances.

Can we bring him back at any point this season for his 9-game cup o coffee or is he in junior for the entire year?
