Ouch. 3 fights in 3 years....NOT that type of material one would think.

Yes - that would be nice be we continue to draft smaller players not the 6'3 to 6'5 230 pd forwards with a nasty streak..... that's what we are going to need to develop them.

I see more like the rent a cop routine for the team but do hope some do come along from the development ranks.

That criticism isn't really founded. The Lightning have used 2nd round picks on Hart and Erne in each of the past couple of drafts. They actually are taking some power forwards.

I was talking more about taking guys in rounds 5-7 and signing free agents out of the junior and pro ranks. Find a guy who can fight and can skate a little and try to develop him.

They're on the very "small" side of power forwards.

They're also not fully grown.

In any event, though, Cam Neely was 6'1" 218. Mark Messier was 6'1" 210. Once you get to a certain minimum size/strength for a power forward, it's more about how you play. Simply being a specimen is irrelevant, because if that's what mattered Evgeny Artyukhin would've been a HOF'er.

I agree wholeheartedly, but Neely and Messier were HOF'ers. They were dominant when healthy. I don't think it's fair to compare these 2 kids to them simply because of their size. Those 2 had something different, and that's why they made it to the HOF.

Teddy Pursesell is about the same size, and he's far from being a power forward.

He was never classified as a power forward though. Hart has been and he his size/weight is comparable to current power forwards in the league which is why he's drawing comparisons.
