If you've ever lived in Atlanta or Los Angeles, you are not allowed to complain about traffic in Gainesville, Fla.

And for the record, I agree that improvements and changes will need to occur in order to put a baseball stadium in the channelside area. They might have to be willing to do things they've never done before, like making Kennedy and Bayshore one-way streets for 1-2 hours leading up to game time. Yes, that would suck for some downtown workers trying to go home, but the majority wouldn't have trouble getting out before 6 p.m. ... But the main improvements would have to be with I-275 and the Expressway. They'll want to make it so that most ticket-holders are encouraged to access downtown that way.

Hotel appears to be part of Vinik’s development plan

TAMPA — Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeff Vinik’s initial plans for developing his massive Channel District land holdings appear to include a new hotel next to the Forum, public documents show.

Meantime, other documents suggest the team owner is considering major roadwork a few blocks away in the Channel District to allow for more real estate development and better traffic flow.

Interesting that the Trib posted this, and there ain't shit from the Times
