Well we definitely did not get that, even with the backup goalie in there. Any sudden-victory OT win is thrilling.

::soap box:: Everyone knows playoffs is the real hockey, the most intense, highest-compete level sports can offer. So, notice how the NHL suddenly admits the shootout was a stupid piece of steaming crap all along, a dopey sideshow that literally HAS NO PLACE in the game: they flush the whole idiotic charade down the toilet when the serious hockey begins.

If Buttman and his ilk were correct, the fans--who uniformly LOVE the shootout and think it's the greatest invention since novocaine--would be CLAMORING for it in the playoffs more than ever! But amazingly no such clamor exists. It's dead silence, suddenly you can't find a single fan of the imbecilic gimmick. People prefer to see TEAMS rather than individuals win games, in sudden-victory OT. Period. Rent a clue, NHL. End of soap box

lol I watched a period or two and found it pretty exciting and a LOT closer than I thought it would be.

I honestly think the Wild needed that one if they hope to go anywhere in this series.

I thought the Blues/Kings game was more exciting. More actual scoring chances, big hits, and big saves. Until overtime this one was a snoozer IMO. Ironically the other game had a lamer ending.

Sorry, I should clarify that I meant in this series, not necessarily each game. I've little doubt that Minnesota will fight the good fight each game. But I'm thinking this'll be a sweep.
