Last point - no one said we were going to, right away, get an awesome goalie in Lindback and Bishop.
We'd always had shitty goalies, but when they finally got a couple of young one's, I haven't noticed any improvement in their games, especially when it comes to technique.

I know they're young, but there has to be some sort of knowledge bestowed upon them buy the goalie coach, and I have yet to see this.

Our future is in Syracuse. The two goalies are goalies for the future. They'll grow together whether that's next year or the year after.
Neither goalie in Syracuse will probably be with the team next year unless Desjardins re-signs.

Fair on the top points. Just trying to get some clarity on what's turned into a mob.

Bishop and Lindback need more time before it's appropriate to call for Jean's head yet. Garon and Roloson aren't very good goalies to judge a GT coach's work on, either.

Second point (Syr) - I wasn't referring to Syrcuse's goalies. I reread what I said and I can see the confusion. I was talking about Bishop and Lindback.

Must admit though that many here have also been wrong like Yzerman. Look at the old posts and see how many thought Ramo or Tick were the answers.

Never really got the chance to see if Tokarski could be a #1. That's not really a fair argument.

I wouldn't judge Jean's effectiveness on our two young goaltenders just yet. During the lockout, the coaches weren't allowed to work with any players. Once the season started, he had about a week to work with Lindback. He finally started to improve and he gets hurt. How long has Bishop been with us? It's too soon with those two.

Not surprised by this as much as im surprised that he said all of the assistants could be retained.

He has worked with Smith, Garon, Tic, Roli and the later said no more thank you I don't want to be messed up anymore. Roli changed his game to try the Jean method it really sucked to say the least.

Smith until he left was nothing and mentioned that finally someone was coaching him to be a better Goalie in phoenix.

So he has had more than enough chance.
My major complaint is he strives for everyone to be farther back in the net which kills goalies at the NHL level. He was effective in the AHL but not in the NHL.
IMHO we are doomed.
But the bigger issue is they are keeping all the assistants that is just not realistic. Which freaking coach has improved any player? What PP do we have? We suck just standing around at the dots. PK you must be kidding? Defensive strategy and performance we suck at that too.

Who is the passing coach, the world of dipsy doodle is taught by someone.

All the nightmares of the past two years will be re-enacted next year. Coop better were some kevlar after the game for those mea culpa's about the inefective play of the team next year.

sorry for the rant but there is nothing in this news that is good for the Bolts IMHO.

Smith suffered a concussion and it took him a long time to recover from. He showed some improvement before he left TB. I'm not surprised to see him do so well now.

Garon has never been that good.

Tic is still an AHL goalie. Going to Hamilton didn't do him any miracles. He's still in the AHL.

Roli was how old when he played for us? his skills were bound to diminish
