Default Barberio Recalled

Taormina reassigned. Will be interesting to see if Mark can be impactful early.

This has to be tryouts for next year. He didn't play badly to merit being sent down.

Yeah Taormina was fine. Glad we're getting a look at Barberio, though.

Yeah, I thought he looked good. My understanding is this kid (Barberio) is very offensive. Is that correct, and how is he in his zone?

There was one shift in particular last night where Taormina got absolutely abused by Ovechkin.

Barberio is somewhat inconsistent in his own end, but he can run a power play with brutal efficiency.

At one time there was a knock on his footspeed, but I think he's improved his skating somewhat. But he's still no Hedman/Koekkoek in that regard.

He wouldn't be the first or the last to be abused by Ovechkin. That one shift shouldn't disqualify him from a future in the NHL.

Regardless I don't see him as part of the Bolts future the way Barberio will be. Just a serviceable callup guy.
