Default Recalls & Reassignments

With the recent closing of the "Lightning stuff you don't want to make a thread for" thread, I felt like it would benefit us to have a dedicated thread for reporting, discussing, and speculating about all call-ups and send-downs, rather than letting the transaction either go unposted or get a new thread every time (which could get quite messy - see: Tyrell, Dana).

Anywho, these aren't exactly breaking news at this point, but to get us started:

Dana Tyrell & Brett Connolly recalled from Syracuse
Ondrej Palat, Cedrick Desjardins, and Andrej Sustr reassigned to Syracuse

Good call on this thread. Anyone have thoughts or has anyone heard anything as to why Palat was sent down? Thanks

EDIT: Saw V4 is in the lineup tonight...maybe that's why

With Vinny coming back and Thompson's suspension ending he would be demoted down to the fourth line so it is better for him to get top-6 time in Syracuse as they do need forwards and he was in the top-6 down there when they brought him up. Him being there for another playoff run will be good for his development as well.

Yeah, that was my thought as well. Palat played well with us, but with Vinny coming back, Conacher being moved, and remaining points at a premium, I imagine the team is probably looking for a little bit more... "finishing" ability than Palat brings to the table right now. He's a good player, lots of hustle and a good playmaker, but not exactly a goal-scorer. I think this is a part of why we're seeing Connolly now as well. He's touted as the "natural goal scorer" so we're loading up all the guns for the stretch run, so to speak.

Still hoping for a Barberio sighting at some point.

Brown going to see the NHL again this season?

I believe Brown isn't even playing for the Crunch at the moment. I'm not sure if this is true or if it is, still effecting him, but I was under the impression that he suffered a broken collar bone at the beginning of the season. I could be entirely wrong though.

V4 returning was part of it but it was mostly to make sure they were eligible for the Crunch playoffs. I believe Gudas and... someone else, can't remember were sent down "on paper", too.

He has returned from the collar bone injury, so if he's been out it's been for a different reason.

Brown has been back in the lineup for a few weeks. Maybe a month.

Matt Taormina is the call up with Hedman's injury. Guess we're not getting a look at Barberio.
