this is really comical to me. like I am laughing. this is beyond baffling to me.

so basically, Yzerman rolled the dice to put him in syracuse but got caught on the bluff. now we are getting a 7th round pick and save $500k of cap space....essentially?

This should also give you some idea of Bergeron's worth -- a 7th + a 4th liner.

Now... the real question in my mind is with Thompson, Crombeen, Tyrell, and Pyatt all under multi-year deals, I can't imagine Yzerman has any intention of extending Hall beyond this season. He is up for a new contract this summer, and normally I would think Hall is gone, but... surely the re-acquisition of him is to just fill out the roster until the end of the season, right? I shouldn't be reading any more into this, right?
No, he's worth a 7th and a guy they ALREADY WAIVED once.

There wasn't a 6th rounder out there somewhere? Or a better 4th liner they could have traded for?

Just seems like too much hassle for too little of a return.

Don't understand this. Why risk the piece you just got? Why not send one of the kids back who will probably produce more than Hall? I mean in the end it's a minor, minor deal but it just doesn't seem to make sense.

Default Maybe

Maybe SFY got Hall back because he has another trade brewing that includes Pyatt or Crombeen? It would not surprise me,other teams are looking to upgrade where they can and SFY maybe covering his posterior by taking Hall back. MAB for a 7th might get us one of those tough guys who need to be groomed.

Looks like it.

I'd laugh like hell if Carolina picks Hall up again.

The plan all along was to get Hall to Syracuse. He'll pass waivers this time.

Probably not allowed per CBA. I don't think you can trade a player, and then claim him from the team you traded him to.

Default Right

You are most probably right Tim about Pyatt and Crombeen, just thinking out loud, I posted that and then read your post about Hall going on waivers. Oh well a 7th for MAB is fine.
