I'm a little verklempt. This is insane. All that pressure and we can't score but one, single damn chance and they bury it?

Just tuned in and it looks like we are playing with no structure whatsoever.

0 for 6 on the power play. Story of the game. Miller was good but not THAT good.

Ryan miller beat the lightning. Guy played on his head tonight.
We did not play all that bad at all. Its one of those that the other goalie stole a W. Although going 0-6 on the powerplay is inexcusable. |

Miller was really good but we made the same mistakes as always. Making fancy passes, lacking forecheck at the critical moments etc. BTW, why does NOBODY on this team seem to know how to shoot for a rebound on a bad angle? It's actually not happened once this season. BASIC example, lefty coming down the right wing gets pushed out of a good shooting angle, takes a snap shot off the blocker and a dead puck drops in the low slot.

True, but this is what we'll be saying when there's only a couple of weeks left in the season. Right now it's about improving and establishing identity and consistency. It's just not there, and that's pretty disappointing.

We're somehow doing a damned good job of wasting Steven Stamkos. When you have one of the 3 best players in the game, you should not struggle to beat teams like Buffalo.

[quote=pete;142197]We're somehow doing a damned good job of wasting Steven Stamkos. QUOTE]
After watching portions of last nights game and while walking into work today I had that same exact thought. Actually was feeling a bit sorry for him. The other thought I had, and may as well share now is they might have to reserve their tee times now cause it doesn't look good. Not feeling it at all. Maybe they will surprise me. SO GLAD I was not there last night to hear Lets go Buff---a---looo and watching fans cavort like they won the cup. You can't realistically expect to make the playoffs winning games 5-4, 6-3, 4-3etc (scoring in bunches and GIVING UP 3 to 5 goals) and then lose 2-1, 4-2 not getting the 4 to 6 goal output and still continuing to give up those same 3to 5 goals. Not good for the heart, but I'll take 1-0, 2-1 wins all season long vs 3-2, 4-1, 5-2 losses. Last, I realize that they have a bunch of new guys in the mix, but 29 other teams go thru this process each year as well. They need to get their act together for this short season, and get it together now. Last edited by gphockey; 02-27-2013 at 07:24 AM. |

Ryan Miller stole this game for them. He has a tendency to do that from time to time.
The Bolts overall played a good game, I thought. This loss is easier to swallow just because they showed up. They didn't give up a quick goal. Garon played well. Stamkos had plenty of looks. The PP was moving the puck and shooting it often. 67-4-26 owned the puck. Miller was that good.
