I could watch us lose 10-0 and still cheer, if every time one of our guys got abused we stood up to the challenge and battled back, showed some fierce resolve and responsibility for each other. This shit, I can't take even if we win.
Few things I hate worse than seeing anyone on our team but especially Marty St. Louis get blasted or manhandled,...with zero repercussions. Worse than that is when it's goddamn Grampa Jeff Halpern with his rickety knees being allowed to shove his crotch in Marty's face in the evening's most revolting freeze-frame, while crushing him like a piņata in the corner--and nobody even looks at Halpern, much less skating over to offer so much as a shove or even a syllable in retribution. Is it too much to ask for SOME KIND of response when players night after night attack with violence the guy who's done more for this franchise than any other single player, and the smallest guy on the club??? Fuck! Never mind Garon with his shitty goal in the first minute and Lindback with his own in the last, forget the road loss, the weak PP, Vinny choking on another breakaway, the refs, NYC, etc...the Marty thing just sticks with me and eats a hole in my stomach lining. That shit makes me fucking vomit razor blades.

Why the hell do we not have a Konopka or Downie on this team right now? They cost practically nothing and do a ton for the team, even without scoring. It's painfully obvious how much we lack that type of presence.

I thought they broke those habits when they stopped playing the "pass it to the far blue line" crap a few years ago. |

I'm also thinking not having the last line change on the road, makes it easier for teams to negate the speed and ability of the Lightning.
