I can't believe that Hickey hasn't made the jump to the NHL. When he played for Seattle, he stood out amongst all the players out there. He seemed to be in a league of his own. Hopefully, a change of scenery is what he needs. LA fans must be happy. They never liked that Lombardi picked him fourth overall.

Might sound harsh but, imo, them claiming Hickey almost solidifies Wishart's a career AHL'er. Again, my opinion.

One can argue Hickey's on the same path as Wishart.



Apparently the league and PA have invented a new rule to play with:

NHL and NHLPA agree to "Accelerated Buyout"

Which allows teams to buyout players this week.

Basically means Redden and Gomez can thank Fehr and Bettman for 4 NHL salaries over the next 2 years.

One of the interesting things in that article:

So, a player on a steady, steady decline in NHL production and a 39-year old. Must be exciting from a fan perspective if they have legit shots over prospects that come from a system HF ranks as #2 in the league.

i honestly have no idea who is on the Panthers this year, but do they have any vets to lead that locker room? But, proof is in your results, and the Panthers AHL team is in last place in their division (their ECHL is pretty good though).
