So we have Bender vs The Tick. Any takers?

Love it.

Edit: Speaking of Tic, wasn't he number 40 with the Lightning? Doth this mean he is changing his number to 34?

Bolts' Vasilevskiy makes quick camp impression

Quote:
During a 2-on-0 drill on the first day of Lightning development camp at the Ice Sports Forum, a pair of skaters came down the slot attempting to put a puck past Vasilevskiy. But the 19th overall pick in the draft last month would have none of it. With arms and legs blocking every conceivable area in and around the net, the 6-foot-3, 204-pound goaltender stopped puck after puck until finally he snared a shot with his glove to the displeasure of the pair of unfortunate shooters in front of him.

The display, however, brought about appreciation via applause from those in attendance. It also provided a glimpse of what many expect to see from Vasilevskiy once he reaches his full potential and is guarding the Lightning net.

"He's very big and very athletic and the trend of goaltending in the NHL, the successful ones, have those two traits,'' Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman said after watching the first day of camp. "That's what we really liked about him, and it's only practice, but you see his ability to move in the net, long limbs and he has a good structure to his game, but he also uses his arms and legs to make saves.''

Yzerman compared Vasilevskiy's style to that of Vezina Trophy finalist Jonathan Quick, who just captured the Conn Smythe Trophy while leading the Los Angeles Kings to a Stanley Cup title last month.
I see what you did there, EE.
