I agree, why lower the ceiling with someone as inconsistent as pouliot. This means IMO that one of Conacher or Connolly wont make the team now....

I'm not convinced Conacher was a lock to make the team before this pickup.

And certainly not at 3rd line duty, at least for Connolly..

Also, inconsistent? Seems like he's settled into a 10+ goal, 30 point a year form the past couple seasons after scoring 15 goals in only 39 games for Montreal. Only 25, too.

Reading reports on him sounds like his play and effort night in, night out is inconsistent.

Good. Connolly has shown no reason to be on the team last season... He needs to be in Syracus next season.

I like this pick up. It was cheap and gives us depth and offense on our bottom lines.

16-16 with third line minutes is secondary scoring, even if he isn't your ideal checking liner.
