Thought I'd start a new thread to discuss the rumors about where Jon Cooper might be next season...
Forecaster is reporting today that the Edmonton Oilers may be leaning towards hiring assistant coach Ralph Krueger to be their next head coach. He briefly coached the club last season. here

I would never want to prevent Cooper from bigger things, but his presence in Syracuse next year would be huge. Thinking specifically about the goalies, Gudas, Panik, and Namestnikov.

I would love to keep Coop as the coach of Syracuse next season, but I would offer him an assistant position with the Bolts if it means we get to keep him in the organization. The guy is a winner.

If I were him, I'd wait 1-2 more years. Not to sew discontent, but if Boucher has another bad year or two, it's obvious the Tampa job could be Cooper's. He gets his kids plus the chance to coach Stammer and Hedman, if that happens. That's called being set up well to succeed.

Recent reports in DC have Haviland coming in - obviously it's still early, but he's the front-runner at the moment.

If Cooper takes an assistant position with Tampa I will do cartwheels

Not me. I want him to stay in Syracuse.
