Helenius to Tampa?

Tic is not ready for the NHL. Helenius may very well be. Like it was said, if we don't like his play let him return overseas. But he has some very good numbers this year. He could be what we are looking for, just give im a chance.

According to the Trib Tic is is one of three goalies we have under contract for 2012-2013.

Tampa Bay has three goaltenders under contract for next season: Mathieu Garon, Dustin Tokarski and Pat Nagle.

Also two have been not offered contracts.

Yzerman also announced contract offers will not be made to 2010 draft picks defensemen Geoffrey Schemitsch or Adam Janosik, allowing both players to re-enter next month's draft.

So the contigency plan might be a Helenius/Garon tandem, what is the contigency plan for the contigency plan?

Thinking about it a little more, I don't HATE the idea like I did before. It just isn't wow-ing me as a favorable option for next season. Of course an overhaul on defense in addition to this would make me feel infinitely better.

Totaly agree that the "D" needs a big upgrade. Just look at the semi-finals and who made it.

But with many thinking that Cory Schneider is off the table or the asking is just too high, and you look at others that are left I am willing to keep the picks and give Helenius/Garon a shot. If Helenius is the real deal then in 2013-2014 you sign Tic, if he is ready, as a back up.

From what I have read about Dansk he might be worth using one of our second rounders and that would put another quality goalie prospect in the pipeline.

Dansk may be worth our second first rounder, IMO.

Vasilievski is touted as the best young Russian goaltender ever in THN.

Which makes you wonder how strongly the KHL will want to keep him(Russian factor creeping in).

Well not to worry, Brisebois says Helenius has to take a two-way. I don't get it. That would create a logjam.
