Stamkos to wear cut resistant socks

Nice to see our young star being proactive in protecting himself, instead of waiting to take a puck or stick to the face before wearing a shield like SOME Bolts.

#1 on this list is blueliner Dan DeKeyser, teammate and good friend of Bolt Prospect Luke Witkowski. The general theory is that DeKeyser is contemplating signing either with Tampa or the Red Wings. DeKeyser is a Michigan kid, who obviously has dreamed of playing for the Red Wings, but also grew up watching Yzerman play and his good friend Witkowski will likely sign with the Bolts this spring. Signing DeKeyser as well as Witkowski would be HUGE. But everyone is after DeKeyser.

#12 on this list is Witkowski and DeKeyser's other defensive teammate Kenney Morrison, whose just a freshman, but is already physically grown and those offensive skills that you can't teach. At Western Michigan, he'll get the proper teaching to make him defensively responsible in his own end.

#2 on this list is defenseman Andrej Sustr from Nebraska-Omaha, who was a camper with the Bolts last summer at their prospects camp just after the draft. You think the organization has a foothold there in signing him this spring.

#3 on this list is defenseman Nate Schmidt from Minnesota, teammate of Bolt Prospect freshman goalie phenom Adam Wilcox.

The Bolts have a lot of interesting connections to add a FA college blueliner, and I think we'll get one of these 4 guys -- although I'm not sure Morrison is quite ready to sign this summer.

The Bolts passed on drafting #7 Miami (OH) forward Austin Czarnik at last summer's draft. He is the teammate of Bolt Prospect Jimmy Mullin, and is really really undersized. Don't see us going after him. I think the focus will be on signing a defenseman.

I hope this is true. I don't dislike him but there is no space for him on the team. PP works without him

Wonder if we can get (D) Patrick Wiercioch for him? Probably not.

Only if they can set up a three-way deal with Pittsburgh and bring in Cooke, too.
