The banner has been unveiled in Boston, and the 2011-12 season is underway.
The Bruins' on-ice ceremony involved passing around the Stanley Cup like at the end of the championship game. Several former Bruins were on hand (Recchi, Hnidy, for two). |

A bit over the top and very vomit worthy.

Stinking Brad Marchand scores the first goal of the NHL season.

Flyers take the rest of the period with a couple goals, though. Feel icky rooting for them.

I hope I'm not the only one here who doesn't unflinchingly hate the Bruins just because of the conference finals. Horton, Marchand, sure, but to cheer for the Flyers over them as a team? Snowball's chance on that one.
Those of you with long-seeded Boston hatreds are excused. |

I just want them to crap on Boston's undeserved celebration, especially since they overdid it.

Might be the most disgusting banner raising i've ever seen.
The NHL gave us 7 minutes. Boston had enough time to drive from Tampa to Plant City. 30 minutes. They got 30 frickin minutes. Did I hear Boston fans booing during the owner talking? I seriously would not be bothered if Boston went 0-82. I don't think i've ever hated a team more to be honest. Part of it is last year, but they way they play/conduct themselves, and the raw arrogance they have as an organization pisses me off. The owner when speaking about the Stanley Cup Banner "Let's get this damn thing up"' Maybe i'm being overly sensitive, but I just felt sick during the whole thing. Bitches. /soapbox off |

Yay. Back to rooting against the Flyers. At least they were good for something.
