I doubt he fits and I have some concerns about his concussion problems. I think Chad is right about staying away from Lu. I wonder about someone like Greiss or a goalie who might be ready to break into the big time. This is why I thought we might go after Bishop, Toronto got him cheap and that could be the type of situation SFY is looking at. I also wonder about any good goalies in Europe that might fit our needs who did not want to leave their teams during the season but might look to come over now.

We need a goalie that can play now. Greiss, bishop, bernier etc. are too risky to depend on as a starter.

I can't remember if I've brought this guy up but he's destroying the USHL, committed to Brown next year. I think he may be worth a late second-early fourth.

Refresh my memory. I don't recall a LIGHTNING goaltender that was picked in the latter rounds and had success here.

56 -
If this was last year at this time and we were acquiring Bernier I'd feel great about it. There is a much bigger question mark on him. But outside of Schneider (who has a tiny ? ), they all do. Even old vets like Thomas and Vokoun as options. Acquiring Bernier or Lindback would be a "better" move if the team really trusted Garon to repeat last year. They'd need insurance. Kiprusoff is rumored to be on the move, but he's awfully expensive. |

I don't recall a goalie that we drafted having success in the NHL, period.

If my calculations are correct, with the quarters wrapped up TB gets #19 overall from Detroit and #46 overall from the Panthers if they choose to make the pick this year.
