I admire your creativity.
What about Simon Tanguay?

Simon Tanguay. I'd laugh if I weren't crying. It's hard to believe two skilled guys could come in here during the prime of their careers (albeit after injuries) and suck so hard.
Common denominator? Vincent Lecavalier. Enough already! That dude will never again be worth what he is being paid. Just get one top 6 forward in a trade return and you've won by clearing that awful contract. It's hard to give up on a guy that I personally like so much, but my eyes tell me that Vinny is done in a Lightning uni. He's only being asked to be a second-line center for cripes' sake, but he is doing a miserable job. Not backchecking tonight was the last straw. How dare he not put forth an effort. Was he feeling good about his shitty stats? Or maybe just his team's place in the standings. Someone should remind him who was primarily responsible for that (hint: not him). Stamkos is hurt? How the hell would anyone know that the way he was throwing his body around all night? It pains me to write this ... Vinny must go. |

I accepted last season that Vinny just isn't the same player he was. I didn't think he would score 30 goals again his career. But when we signed Gagne to play on his line, I thought he would at least have a better season than last year. Instead he's having an even worse season. Is the decline going to continue next year? Where is the floor, a 40 point season? Is he going to retire at 34? Does Montreal even want to trade for him any more?
In the same amount of games, Steve Downie is only three points behind him while playing 3 less minutes a game. Vinny has 7 even strength points in 28 games. Seven. |

Must not have been at the game. Vinny played fine - better than fine. Other than Marty, who was / is always at a different plane, Vinny was the best player out there. Perhaps it didn't come over on the tube. |

Vinny is my all time favorite Lightning player....but....I concur.
Stick a fork in him. I'd take Plekanec straight up for him if Montreal would do it.

How about we get Brad and then ditch Vinny?
A bit harsh perhaps, but it is ruthlessly logical. |

I know you all will castrate me for even suggesting this, but why not play MSL with VL for a couple of games and Gagne with Stamkos. Maybe MSL can get VL going and Stammer get Gagne going... BUT I will say MSL is so underrated and now I think it show's that he's one hell of a winger thinking of when he played with Brad, then Vinny, and now Stammer and has made magic with all three - and made it look easy. |
