Yep, the Dermatologists have quite a customer base here
. Solar panels going up almost every day, best place for them. Wind is a bit dicey as it's either still or near hurricane force.

Chicago Tribune, Apr. 21, 1934 You can't make this stuff up...over 75 years later, no new ideas coming from the lower left ![]()

Trippy. It was a copy & paste, showed up fine both in Preview Post and after I hit Submit Reply.
![]() Hundreds of links to this eye-popping cartoon exist, most in web logs with yards of dopey remarks afterward...I'll pick the one from Snopes http://message.snopes.com/showthread.php?t=44312 since many of the comments seem to reflect at least some shred of communication skill and intellect on both sides...even the misguided, wrong ones ![]() Two sides to every story... 1. This just proves, 76 years later, "the left" still up to the same treachery 2. This just proves, we didn't become a dictatorship then, so we aren't now either, regardless of what "the right" says

A political cartoon isn't proof of anything (much less "treachery") other than the cartoonist loving to draw formulaic, beat-you-over-the-head symbolism.

Very nice, Avery

This is DEFINITELY worth a look. I really recommend it.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/walking...674967/detail/ It's a set of infographics hosted on Flickr that utilize 2000 Census data to paint a pretty stark picture of racial and ethnic divides in the major cities. Some of them, like San Franciso/Oakland, are pretty homogeneous, but others, like Detroit, Chicago and Atlanta, are split up between highly visible "lines." Includes white, black, Hispanic and Asian populations. Really easy to see in the older cities where white flight has taken place, leaving the inner cities to rot from the inside out.

I wish you could zoom in more on those maps, but interesting stuff anyway.

You can. When you're looking at a particular photo, click on it, and it'll open up by itself in a lightbox looking page. In the upper right, click on "View all sizes", and it'll take you to a page where you can choose from different sizes to view. You'll want to take a look at "Original" on the far right. They're huge.
