It's the "A"'s fault.

he had a decent game IMO...Not great, but he battled and got the puck out except for a few times..

Default 2nd

that was the best 2nd period I have seen them play in awhile and definetly 60 minutes of hockey. they battled and played well tonight, wow a win IN DC, that has been a long time coming. well let us hope this carries over to sunday. hey did we have any PP's tonight? i do not remember us having one, maybe the refs had money on the Craps and thus called nothing on them.

I would agree only for the 2nd half of the the 2nd period. They were god awful the 1st half of the period. They couldnt get the puck out of their end and were out-shot 12-0 until around the 11 min mark. I think when Downie was drilled, the team started picking up the play and took it to the Caps. Great, much needed win though........

Yeah, they were getting outshot 10-0 in the second.

The Lightning got good goaltending, worked really hard and got a few breaks..
That's a recipe to use the rest of the way..

Kudos to Bochenski, who has played a few good games since his last recall..

Who would have thought our No. 8 would be the No. 1 star? LOL

I gotta say, i cannot see the Caps winning the cup the way they play d...The Bolts had so many opportunities tonight..Varlamov made a couple lucky/great saves on Stamkos and MSL...

Hopefully, they can use this emotion to win the next two at home..

When the Caps are as far ahead of the pack as they are, they are going to have a few stinkers down the stretch - but at home?? against the Bolts?? The Bolts wanted and needed it more and it showed. I still think the Bolts' chances are slim but "down the stretch they come" with 5 of the next 6 at home - need to pick up at least 9 points in those 6 games against some very tough opponents - GO BOLTS!!

From your mouth to God's ears.

I had some fun imagining what kind of tongue lashing they got from Boudreau for losing to the Bolts, maybe winning the division is enough for them!

Don't have to imagine..

Quote:
While the Lightning were excitedly talking about putting in a strong all-around effort—they won even though Steven Stamkos’(notes) franchise-record 18-game points streak ended—Capitals coach Bruce Boudreau criticized the way his team played in its first regulation home loss since Dec. 28.

“We stayed out too long, we got outworked, and we didn’t play the way we’re capable of playing, and that’s the reason we lost. It had nothing to do with goaltending,” Boudreau said. “We should be able to score—with that lineup— three goals a game. And we got none 5-on-5, which has been a strength of ours all year. When you get none 5-on-5, the telltale sign isn’t luck, isn’t anything. You got outworked. And, I mean, there’s no excuse.”
