7pm game time!
What I'm kinda afraid of is these guys winning one or two here & trying to get my hopes up, only to crush them again like a small bug. So yeah I'm not getting my hopes up. |

Ok, I think we need some optimism to start the day
![]() Did some math this morning and I put together a scenario that is somewhat logical. of course, the biggest obstacle is the Lightning has to play better..That just may not be able to be corrected if their defense and goaltending continues to struggle. But, my goal with them is to get within a few points of the 8th spot when April begins, because 4 of the last 5 are at home. Phily 5-5,,, 84 pts with 6 games left Boston 5-5,,,82 points with 6 games left Montreal 4-4,,,82 points with 5 games left Tampa 7-4,,,,80 pts with 5 games left Rangers, Atl, Florida, Carolina done Then you find a way to go 4-1 or 5-0 and you have a chance. Yes, it could be a pipe dream, but if they can win one of the next two, then get hot at home who knows? After tonight, nine of the final 15 are home. |

I did some math too, the other nite (MTL) in chat. I, in hindsight, foolishly counted last nite as a win. Here's what needs to be done.
We need 24 pts in the next 16 games 12-4-0 11-3-2 10-2-4 9-1-6 8-0-8 The target team are the Bruins. Sure, the home stand looks good in the forseeable future but technically of all the games we needed to keep pace, it was last nite. We have to take care of business on the road! If they hit the 3 or 4 game loss mark anywhere between now and the end of the season, it's over. Barring an outright collapse by BOS, NYR, and a less-then-mediocre run by ATL. |

Caps did alot to help themselves with deadline trades down the home stretch - it was a risk to mess with the chemistry that has served them well but they were looking to extend their depth and I definitely think they did that at the deadline - a W tonight in their building would be HUGE but highly unlikely.

He took that hit really awkwardly, I was surprised he came back at all. |

I think Montreal is more of a target because we have three games in hand on them...we have to hope they revert back

How do you say "watch the back door!!" in Swedish?
Also, looks like last night, lots of pressure, not scoring as much as we should. |
