I don't think anyone could seriously argue that the Republicans don't end up almost entirely one-sided on their votes. Democrats are the ones who have many smaller parts that routinely buck the party line.

That's what you lead me to believe when you deflected criticism of the riders with your response.

And my point was that we would not be in this mess today if the other side of the aisle had dealt with this issue when they controlled both Congress and the White House. We would not had been here if the White House had send a budget frame work to Congress when he had total control.

But instead the leaders sat and did nothing because they were afraid what the public would feel and the elections around the corner...........they lost any way. Now we have to deal with the House who want to make changes to how thing are ran on the social front in order to get a budget passed.

As for the riders......Obama promised that he would call out any member of
Congress when he did not like the amendments being pushed.....he did not do that, instead he let both side give their little press conferences and look like fools. Tie for him to step up and lead.

I don't know if anyone could lead these disrespectful clowns on either side of the aisle. Trying to lead them reminds me of the old commercial with he cat herders.

Is there anything Obama could say that the GOPbaggers would agree with other than "I resign"?

CBO: Budget deal cuts this fiscal year’s deficit by just $352 million, not $38 billion touted

Which is OK as they had to get this out of the way and in place. Now they can work on the issues of the day and not something that should had been passed last year.

This is a pretty dumb story. Spending was still cut by $38 billion, the savings just come in later fiscal years. For example, one of my grants to construct infrastructure was cut by 16%. First of all, we don't receive the grant until October 1, 2011 (next fiscal year). Then we have to go through a selection process to select the engineer to design the project, we design the project, we bid the construction and then construct the project.

When you get a grant, you don't get a check, you get a line of credit. You can only draw those funds from the federal government AFTER you spend the money. So the cuts that were made impact projects that would have been constructed in fiscal year 2012 or 2013. So there was a reduction in future spending.

If you cut projects this fiscal year, you would have to cut projects that are already under construction or where you have already spent money on design. That would lead to lawsuits by contractors and grantees.

Florida may have moved down one place in the goofiest state in the nation race.

The state of Arizona has moved onto contentious political territory once again with the legislative passage of a bill requiring President Barack Obama and other presidential candidates to prove their U.S. citizenship before their names can appear on the state's ballot.

A court could possibly have to decide whether the president's birth certificate is enough to prove he can legally run for re-election. Hawaii officials have certified Obama was born in that state, but so-called "birthers" have demanded more proof.

Thank God for Arizona.

You forgot the goofiest part Donnie.

Arizona's Senate-Approved Birther Bill Could Force Presidential Candidates to Provide Documentation Describing What Their Penis Looks Like to Get on Ballot

Quote:
Apparently, requiring presidential candidates to provide a long-form birth certificate before allowing their names on the ballot in Arizona -- despite it already being a federal requirement to run for president -- was a bit too much for a few GOP lawmakers. So they made some amendments: if you can't find your birth certificate, and you have a penis, a document describing your lack of foreskin will suffice.

It is my understanding that they must "prove" their citizenship to the satisfaction of the governor, Jan Brewer.
