when you stop and think about this, it is the best scenario that I think really brings the issue to a head. If the government wants to protect our health, can they also protect us from being a victim of a crime?

So, owning a firearm will protect me from being a victim of a crime? Ummmm...no.

I would like to see a provision of the health insurance law revised to allow citizens to opt out of purchasing a policy with the contingency that opt out of any care they are unable/unwilling to pay for including emergency care. Leave them where they are. Well, move them out of the way of traffic onto the shoulder of the road.

What kind of a piece of subhuman garbage would you have to be to do something like this?

A search for Schenecker memorial funds online doesn't reveal much, but one site, which has since been taken down, stated that the New York-based 66th Military Intelligence Brigade was collecting money for 13-year-old Beau's soccer team and 16-year-old Calyx's cross country team. It linked to PayPal.

Population growth, 85% minority?

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/41402130/ns/politics/

Not to sound racist, but I'm curious how much of the population growth is due to illegal immigration. I've also read that 15 other states are going to be voting on measures similar to what Arizona passed. If our national government doesn't act soon I for one wouldn't be against these measures being passed.

I think what rubs me the wrong way, is that with the lack of action, it feels as if the democratic party is content with allowing illegal immigrants to "breed" Republicans out of office. Most of that article talks about how Hispanics deserve more seats in politics, but it doesn't go into detail as to what made it so. Meanwhile the Mexican mafia runs amok. Seriously doesn't sit well with me.

Would it be too difficult to come up with a compromise? Greater gun control in the border states in exchange for an impenetrable and safe border?

And the Secretary of Homeland Security says that illegal immigration is down along our southern borders and so is the crime rate.

Meanwhile, the Repubs don't want to do more than pay lip service to immigration control because a lot of their base needs those people to make a profit.

Granted, census workers aren't really qualified to determine immigration status, but it seems odd that some states might be getting more seats due to folks that can't even vote.

Well, there's no jobs so that's not too surprising.

I consider the Arizona law more than lip service.
