Assuming this is true (and there's no reason to doubt EE, IMO)...

I don't think it's the end of the world. True, this was the year for good Vinny20 and true, it's not like there's a bunch of top sixers banging on the door in the farm, but... I'd really like to see the front lines of the Lightning be known for their speed. Marty, Stamkos, Lecavalier... in the future - Tyrell ... all known for their skating.

I'll just say it, watching Prospal skate made me nauseous. Watching him celebrate, however, was a joy.

If true... then here's his buyout hit:

VACLAV PROSPAL BUYOUT FROM CAPGEEK.COM
2009-2010: $1,166,667
2010-2011: $1,166,667
2011-2012: $1,166,667
2012-2013: $1,166,667
2013-2014: $1,166,667
2014-2015: $1,166,667

Also the cap savings for the first 3 years are $2.33M each season, which obviously helps with being in striking distance of the midpoint. But, of course, the last three years is a $1.166M cap deficit...

Why does this remind me a little of what happened to Dan Boyle?

And yet another Lawton clean-up act proving last year's insanity was just that by the Cowboys.

Jon Jordan reporting the money saved will go toward signing another player.

You'd have to think they have something in place. You don't buy out a guy with no backup plan.
