Totally agree on the melodrama. A dose of reality is needed for the more casual fans perhaps, but to keep droning on and on about how we're definitely gonna lose is just lazy, borderline trolling, and not really helping as far as inviting more of the community onto the bandwagon. Where is Tom McEwen's enthusiasm when you need it?

Anyhow, go Bolts! All the pressure is on Montreal to win! The entire country is expecting them to. Why even the mayor of Canada is going to be in the building...

Yep, it's definitely coming across as lazy.

I'm inferring from the comments that someone was seriously suggesting starting Gudlevskis in MTL instead of Lindback. I'm not inclined to go seek out any column written by Tom Jones, so if that's true,...what an overarching fuckwit. Jackwad, even. Yeah, your 2nd NHL start is in the Forum on Easter, and if you lose, our entire season is fucking over. No pressure! Welcome to hell, kid!

No way. The pressure is all on MTL in their building, since they're totally expected to win--why take it off them and put it on a 21-yr-old rookie goaltender? We got there because of Bishop, and if he's out, a healthy Lindback is up. Easiest call Cooper's had to make all year.

EDIT: OK, turns out curiosity got the better of me. I could hardly believe even Jones could be that much of a dim bulb, but I was mistaken. Speaking of his own suggestion, he writes: "This could be the worst hockey idea since Fox's glowing puck." Also, "Lindback hasn't done anything to lose the first two games." If that's is how he supports the idea of putting in an untested rookie, what the fuck would he say if he were against it??

What's really galling is, this guy actually gets PAID to write about the Lightning, while almost every person doing it for free in this forum has a better grasp of the subject.

This is it. Can't go down 3-0 so the chance to win this series effectively hinges on this game.

There is no question in my mind we can still win this series but it must start tonight. Go Bolts!

Cooper needs to tell them to go out and play their game. The eyes are on Montreal, if Tampa plays the way we and they know they can play then they will come out on top tonight.

I think he just throws shit against the wall, see if he can stir the pot a bit- it actually is his job- that said, its a really bad idea to start Guddog, I agree with you on that shelf. I wonder which Tampa team shows up tonight? ... The last two games have been awful- I'm almost afraid to look....

If anyone wants some good pregame reading this is a good article.

My favorite line from Cooper is this:

"I’m sure they’ve never had a 2-0 lead on the road and come back and blown it."

My question to Tom Jones would be, "If Ben Bishop had been the losing goalie of the first two games of this series, would you still be calling for Anders Lindback before Game 3 as well?
