Default so what about Ben

three chances to win the SO and fails, but he comes through on the 4th with what seemed like the crowd back to believing in hiim from the sound coming thru the television? Could be a turning point to another Ben can carry us run is what I sensed.

I cannot fathom that Cooper can pair Gudas and Carle for much longer. Miserable negative synergy, the sum of their play is worse than their individual efforts put together. That was as bad and scary first shift as could be experienced this time of the year. Apparently the Isles are hell on wheels on the road, but damn they jumped us and put Carle in passive mode all night with that first effort.

Not only do we need to shoot more, we need to put the puck on net instead of shooting wide and clearing our own zone too often too count. Ugly 4 on 3 PP which should have been potted to win the game...

Who do you pair them with? Salo has looked just as bad in his own zone, and Hedman has not been much better.

Agreed! Puck on stick, unchallenged, between the dots, guy in front of net and he doesn't fire. I scared my wife with a very loud WTF when he attempted pass to 91.

But other threads keep pointing out how Carle, Brewer, Hedman, Gudas, etc. are really OK, just fine, no radical upgrade needed, they've greatly improved over last year, etc. Then we need the refs and hockey gods to team up just to keep us from pissing away two points to a non-playoff club.

Not liking how Ben Bishop suddenly has gone from being the solid Vezina candidate to predictably giving up bad softies night after night. He is having some kind of crisis of confidence or psychological difficulty right now that could not be coming at a worse time. His former trademark of waiting out shooters has left him--even on his final, "game-winning" save last night, he had completely committed before the shot was taken. Totally got lucky to have picked up two points vs. the 27th place team.

Nelson can hook and hold with impunity but still gets OWNED by Callahan. HA-ha! Nelson.

BTW does anyone recall ever hearing anyone during overtime say anything like, "J$#%& F*$#ing C#$%&*, this F#$*ing SUCKS! Please, somebody just F$&*#!# put one in and end this G$* D$%$&* F#*&ing boring tedious torture before I F$%&*ing kill myself"? Because I don't. I only hear it when more than enough time has gone by to end the game with 3-on-3 OT and grab a shower, yet they're still running that idiotic stick & puck session, taking turns lazily weaving in on goal unchallenged for a practice shot. Something's deeply wrong when you get bored, channel surf for a while, come back just to see who "won",...and they're STILL doing the lame-ass sideshow. The shootout has become the --------- of sports...pimped as a great solution everyone would love, instituted over loud, rational, commonsense objections, turned out later to be way worse than before, a big stupid time-wasting joke most people want to dump for something sensible.

There's your 3-hour marathon. Make it a sudden victory 3-on-3 instead, and it's virtually guaranteed the game would've ended sooner, and nobody would've left or changed the channel....or threatened suicide

EDIT to change "stupid" to "idiotic" and "lame-ass", due to using the word "stupid" too many times to describe the shootout

Just something to keep in mind, Bishop was on Fan Interference and stated that he was pretty banged up but that he's good enough to play "right now".

I thought that was intresting... Also a hurt Bishop > Lindback.

He also stated he loved the hastage #BishPlease!
