More points given away when they were tied after two periods. This team is so anti-clutch.

If only hockey were a game with two halves of play instead of three periods.

How the heck did they come up with that anyway?

Smith: Geez, I'll give him a break since he's played pretty well before this, but that was not a good game at all from him. Three bad goals. I don't mind him handling the puck a lot, but he's got to be smarter with that than he was in this game.
Jokinen: Hurt or benched?
Karlsson: What is Tortorella's fascination with this guy? Someone on another thread mentioned something about Torts erupting over something recently and saying, basically, he was not gonna play the kids... Can someone give me info on that?
Tortorella: I know he is a really good coach overall. Anybody that wins a cup and gets a team to the playoffs four straight years is. But I am starting to think we definitely need a new voice behind the bench, a fresh start. He is way too stubborn. He's got to find a better balance.
I have said many times the three seasons before this that I was amazed at how he was able to make the right lineup changes, especially the cup year when he picked the right time to put a 7th defenseman in, when it was the right time to put Clymer-Cibak-Dingman together and actually play them. This season, I can't figure what he is doing at times... I know i am not in the locker room... But i just think his use of the bench, his decisions on who should be in the lineup and which goaltender to play have not been good all season IMO... A lot has to do with the team. But I think he has made it worse.
What do you do? I don't know? He's got years left on his contract. Do they really want to pay him to leave? Or would they assume he gets hired by someone else right away? IMO, he has to either change his mindset with this team or we might be better with someone else at the helm.

the time to ditch him was before they made one of our star players the sacrificial lamb for this team's problems. now

I started thinking around December that Torts should pack and go. He's done all he knows how to do, IMHO, and it's gotten stale for the team, which is sorely in need of motivation. Team should give him that elusive win quickly for his record (he deserves that) and move on.
