Default Let's draft today....

The Lightning are drafting #1. With Tavares jumping in TSN's rankings, do you take a chance on him? Or is Hedman still the clear choice? What if we end up with #2? Obviously if we're at #2, you can't really go wrong with either one. I'm torn because I think the Lightning need both. At this point, the Lightning have major ground to make up to end up with anything outside a top 3 pick, so we're probably looking at a future star player most likely. Who do you take at #3?

Who will be available? Who/what picks would we trade? I'd really rather not part with any of the core.

Our guys just have to examine hedman thoroughly... Is he gonna be a monster or is he gonna be a problem or a guy that's gonna take a while to adjust to the nhl..
long time to go. I have a feeling we are gonna play better as the season goes on and end up 4th or 5th, so it may not matter..

Seeing as OK Hockey is not shy about using their financial resources, I'd rather acquire a defenseman fully formed rather than taking the 3-4 years it takes to cultivate one. The idea of having Tavares and Stammer on the same line for the next 6-7 years and Vinny anchoring the other is very enticing.

I drool when I think of a line with Malone-Stamkos-Tavares. Potential for some beautiful plays.

me, too on Tavares
But i think we will climb over four or five times at least by the end of the season... guess we could still win the draw, but i think we need to go forward first...we gotta hope wishart, quick, mihalik, smaby and others improve

Okay the real question, who would you draft in the 5-10 spots? We aren't going to finish last and Tavares won't be available when we pick.

I need to look at the prospects and come up with something.
