Richards wasn't big. He's 6'1''. Look at Marty. Or Crosby. Size isn't everything in the NHL these days. Good skaters who can create space and find the open man can play. I like Schroeder. He could be a good fit with Downie and Stamkos next year.

Richards was a solid 6'0" when we drafted him. Schroeder is 5'8"/5'9" depending on who you believe. If someone takes him in the top-5, they've got a cast iron set of stones.

Honestly, if I'm the Lightning's scouts, I'm hating the idea of picking third. There's something frighteningly similar to 2001 about this draft.

I really like the lines of Malone-Vinny-Prospal and Recchi-Stamkos-St Louis. Replace Recchi with Downie next year, and I think you have a pretty decent top 2 lines. Vinny4 has to be forced to create space and chances by himself. Having Prospal dig in the corners for him and Malone to bang in the rebounds should make a pretty good line in the future. St. Louis and Stamkos with Downie could have some really good speed and have a change-up type of thing for opposing teams. Obviously lack size though. If that's the Bolts' decision, then you draft a defenseman in the 1st round. I think the deadline will show what they plan on doing.
