And at that point we should've all just come to the conclusion that the White House wasn't going to support any DACA compromise. Schumer offered Trump the most the Democrats could possibly be willing to give up and they still said no.

So, honestly, we need to stop pretending the White House is capable of moderation and that any of this is anything more than theater. Trump started his campaign saying all Mexicans are rapists and murderers. They hired a bunch of Nazis (Bannon, Gorka, and Miller) at the start of the Administration and had them setting the policy agenda. They praised white supremacists at Charlottesville as "many fine people." Trump got caught saying all Haitians have AIDS, people from Nigeria will never go back to their huts, that they're both "s-hole" countries and that he didn't care what the Black Caucus thought about that. And to put the cherry on top, they released an anti-immigrant web video this weekend (you know, the one Waiver and Lightningtdi probably rubbed one off to before they came on here to post this afternoon) that made the Willy Horton ad look like an episode of My Little Pony.

Over and over and over again they're telling you, "We're racist extremists!"

Let's start taking their word for it.

There's not a policy compromise to be had here, and we all need to admit it. If this was a normal Administration, there would be, but these goose stepping fascists aren't normal, and shouldn't be treated as such. What remains is to create the political optics that underscore how wildly extreme and morally odious these people are so that the Democrats can hold Republicans accountable at the ballot box in November for having become a party 100% beholden to evil people.

Pretty good chance this is the “new normal”.

The article Bolthed posted about Greenwald was a good read. Greenwald has excellent perspective being on the outside looking in; enables him to be somewhat objective. The point made about MSNBC rings particularly true; Bill Kristol, Steve Schmidt, Michael Steele, and Nicole Wallace get more airtime there than they ever did at FOX. The evening infotainment there is as credible as their competition at FOX; hair on fire hyper partisans. And all unapologetic corporate shills.

Disgusted.

Ex-GOP rep David Jolly:

Schumer lost the weekend battle. But pollsters might say he set the perfect trap. The longer Trump's GOP shows it can't solve DACA, allows Sessions, Kelly & Miller at the mic, & baits right wing media racial absurdities, the closer an energized progressive base gets to Nov '18.

Ummm...Pete, that is simply not true...his exact words were:

"When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best. They're not sending you. They're not sending you. They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."

Also, why do you find it so hard to discuss anything without ad hominem attacks?

You really cleared that up. He had more of a Charlottesville vibe.

Good to know that there is a plot by Mexico to “send” it’s undesirable citizens. Couldn’t possibly be people desiring a better life here.
