Honestly, if you get someone who is good at moneyball to run the Rays you can probably make decent money with a downtown stadium, provided the team is competitive.

There is no way this team can be competitive with the other big market teams in that division. Until there is a salary cap - which wonít happen, there are the big market teams and the feeders to the big market teams. Vinik would be an idiot to buy the Rays.

Yeah he would've made room for them if that was the plan. Stay away Vinik.

Also he's a minority owner of the Red Sox, so he probably knows exactly how bad an idea it is, and probably doesn't want to divest himself of them anyway.
