So sad. I think this article was from a year or two ago.

He lived in Westchase, in Radcliffe, right behind my village (Shires). I'd see him at the gym, usually once a week. To see him with his shirt off was impressive to say the least..And his hands..god what large mitts. He'd come out and play with us occasionally in the summer at Sunblades. I knew he liked to cook, so I brought him some of my old creole seasoning one day. We talked cooking and spices and crazy non-hockey things. That's just the way he was. A pretty smart yet a very down to earth guy...when he dropped his bag in the locker room, everybody lit up. We knew we were in for a good skate.

I mention all this to confirm what most of us already know. Rudy was a great sport and a good human being. Its just a shame what the game he loved has done to his brain and his body.
