Hyperpartisanship may not make a 1980-style Electoral College wipeout possible, but the first debate may well have clinched the election result the same way it did in 1980. Voter preference may be locked in for Biden and now it's just GOTV for the next month to make sure that voter preference translates to actual votes.

Then again, the polls don't have to move a lot more (maybe ~2-4% left) for Biden to win everything up to and including Texas.
