Default Fourth Year Anniversary

Just thought I'd commemorate it since I thought of it!

Now that I've paid homage, let me say...special as that was, it's time to move on & look forward to the new. We've been moving away from the championship team since 6-8-04, but now with a new coach & new ownership coming in we're entering new territory, and hopefully we do have some things to look forward to. (Yes, I am mostly trying to convince myself)

We can always be thankful that we have this to think back on though! If anyone has any cool pictures or videos please share, this was the best I could come up with after a quick search.

Hmm.. Maybe I ought to break out the DVD tonight.. It's been a while..

I have to admit the past couple seasons since the cup win the hunger wasn't quite as strong. I didn't sweat the first round playoff losses as much as some of you since I figured at least we punched a ticket to the postseason and had at least a shot at it. Now that we finished at the bottom and watching the Anaheims and Detroits make a total snore out of the Finals I'm really feeling the fire again. I want to see this team friggin' dominate the league like they did down the stretch in '04, no backing into it, no hemming and hawing and trying to hit the stride at the right time. Let's give the NHL another lesson and change the paradigm again.

That's my favorite Mav, thanks!

Found this nice one, 8 minutes of highlights of the whole series.

When I first saw it, I got misty eyed just as Dave lifted the Cup.

Four years later, same result lol

That game, the postgame celebration and all the fun out by the parking lot afterwards (including appearances by Torts and Blue Suit Brian) is something I will never, ever forget.

Was not my intent

I had a lifelong friend who was supposed to drive up from Miami for the game. He decided that a night of microwave pasta with some girl he had a futile crush on was more important than Lightning history.

He's never gotten over it to this day.
