Default Hockey Internet sites you check

For Lightning news I normally check TSN, Tampa Tribune, St Pete Times and Bolt Prospect board.

Occasionally I will go to the 4th period, HF board, Sunshine Network board and JV board.

I will check in on other sites such as the salary cap (2), NHL.com, ESPN etc depending on what is happening.

What sites do you regularly check?

Any new sites you would like to share?

I usually check most of those. Good times.

Of course the Trib and Times,
TSN, CNNSI and FoxSports - mostly for the columns.

Any time I need to dig up numbers or stats, I go straight to HockeyDB.com. An amazing repository of data for just about anything related to hockey.

Besides the ones already listed,

I get my Kings information from a really good blog from the daily news.

This site is great for historical uniforms, though it is ugly as sin.
http://www.nhluniforms.com/

I look at the usual stuff for news, but these are good for reference:
http://nhlscap.com/ (note: the site is now sponsored by Eklund so it may be moving there completely soon)

Hmm, no one has mentioned Sportsnet yet
http://www.sportsnet.ca/
They're good on trade deadline day & other "big" hockey days, though they sometimes jump the gun & get things wrong in an effort to be first.

The other thing about Sportsnet, and why I barely check it, is that it's so oriented and biased towards the Canadian teams. Which is fine, since it's a Canadian sports network, but sometimes it's just a little too, well, Leafs oriented.

For cap numbers and stuff you can also try: www.nhlnumbers.com

I also use sportsnet and TSN the most, but also I scan (near trade deadline or UFA period)

torontosun (careful, Leaf overload)

Not to be out done by the ottawasun Lots of Sens crap...

thecanadianpress
I've found trades or signings press releases on here before TSN or Sportsnet once in a while. And the hard to find ones that slip under the radar. Only thing is the site is not really user friendly.

ottawacitizen

Also on the Americana side: www.sportsline.com/nhl it's put up by CBS. Which reminds me take a look at their "Offseason Grades." which is just under the headline pic. They gave Tampa an "A-"

usa today
Steve Stamkos on there right now! Go Steve!

Oh, and there's also sports.yahoo.com/nhl Stamkos on there too!
Yahoo has keeps (I think) about 5 years back in team stats, player stats and so on and is easy to navigate. Plus they have a bunch of situational stats too.

Just save 'em all to your favorites and go down the list! I waste so much time just looking at everything!

Also, when a trade happens sending one of our fan favorites to another team I surf those teams boards to see what they think of the trade and the players they lost in the trade. Did this with the Boyle trade. All the Sharks fans thought Feaster came up with the trade, no word of OK/B. They couldn't get why JF would sign him then trade him. "Just stupid!"

There's only a handful of sites that I feel like going to on a regular basis. TSN is good, unless you don't want a Canadian overload. Otherwise the two big Tampa Bay newspapers, Boltprospects, and occasionally http://www.redwingscentral.com/forums/ There's a poster in the forums there who's pretty good about getting news out. Other than those, www.spectorshockey.net is a good place to go to read up on the wacky rumors that are always being spread around. The reason I go there and not any other rumor site is because the moderator is pretty accurate when giving him opinion on the dumb rumors.

www.Hockeydb.com is an awesome place for statistics (as previously mentioned) and for those players that you just forgot about. www.nhlnumbers.com does a decent job at the salary cap situation, and dabbles a bit with the player's contracts as a by-product. The NHLPA website has the link to the CBA, which can be good if you encounter those nights of staring at the ceiling.

And for fun, there's www.firebettman.com and www.hockeyfights.com.

I quit going to Spectors when he tagged it with one of those obnoxious pop ups that hit the screen when you close the browser.
