I take full credit with my first ever GDT. So I'll post it on Saturday for the reg. finale. If we break our jinx of losing to Montreal I will officially be the good-luck GDT starter (until we lose one).

Drouin definitely looked improved, even making a nice defensive play in our zone in the third. He still sucks along the boards but that can be tolerated if he continues to dazzle with skill in open ice. Of course we all noticed the pats on the back on the bench after he scored and his smile when Stumpy was congratulating him. But right before that I couldn't help but notice how subdued his linemates' celebration was on the ice. And his reaction to scoring the goal looked a bit like a Fuck You to the entire hockey world. It's easy to overanalyze. But there's no denying that a good playoff run by Drouin in the bright lights of hockey's grand stage would be optimal for our franchise. We still hold all the cards. He's highly motivated to play well and improve his lot. If that happens we either trade him for fair value or keep him and repair the relationship (although I'm not sure we can ever really trust him again).

I would rather play Detroit than Boston in round 1. We already know we can beat them in the playoffs. Winning in Boston has always been a struggle for this franchise.

As a follow up to my post the other day, with his 66th point of the season, Kucherov has set a new career high in both goals and points this season
