I fell in love with her when she was the sideline reporter for the Lightning. She reminded me of an ex girlfriend, only she was into hockey too. That was huge. I think she's turned out all right, and I think she'd be the type of girl you could bring home to mom and dad AND still take to a hockey game without getting weird looks. Good for her.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. People will always find something to pick at or grind an axe over.

On the one hand, getting in the door might be easier if you're a good looking girl, but on the other it makes it harder to get any credit if you really do end up doing a decent job. Case in point would be all the ridiculous hubbub over the "hawt chick" that was a producer of Assassin's Creed, one of the hit video games of the past fall, both praising and bashing her over the most absurd things that she may or may not even have had control of.. Nevermind that the game itself was pretty dang cool (if admittedly a bit repetitive by the time you get to the end).

Me, I find the whole thing shrugworthy. She's just yet another sideline reporter in the end. Everyone knows the game. What's the big deal? I'm watching because of the athletes and the teams and the sport itself, not any of the frills surrounding them.

2. Bring hockey back to ESPN. I know I'm the first to think of this, and you'll thank me later, but hockey games need to be on ESPN. It's that simple. By the way, did you know Erin Andrews got her start in television doing hockey in Tampa? She doesn't mention it a lot now, because it's probably in her contract not to, but she really enjoyed her time in hockey. Should we really be preventing her from working in a sport she loves?

I apologize. The meathead who posted that on yahoo may be the biggest idiot in the history of the world. Eliminate Canadian teams and ADD European teams? Come on. I wish I could deliver a Chuck Norris-style roundhouse kick to his groin.
