It will happen. Last off-season that long term answer just wasn't available. Besides, after last year's playoff run, we had no choice but to run with Roli one more time. We know the results but what other choice did Steve have?

The reality is that the only way Lou comes here in a trade is if it involves Vinny.

He signed with Caps for a chump change 1year deal b/c his market dried up after the Aves traded for Varlamov. And it's not like Vokoun played great this year anyways (injuries aside). He was very inconsistent for Caps which is why they finished as low as they did.

What this guy said.

If anyone wants all this goalie talk moved, let me know.

So, does Detroit's pick get bumped up now that they are out? I think it was 23rd before.

It can still move around depending on what the other teams do. For instance, if Ottawa advances the pick will improve, if Ottawa loses the pick won't move.

Pretty much you want the higher seeded teams to lose.

As of now the Detroit pick would fall in line at #20 if the Rags and Bruins win game 7 of their respective series. If either/or loses the Wings pick moves up 1 slot respectively. Either way a top 20 selection as it turns out makes that trade feel much better considering Detroit was at or near the top of the entire NHL at the time of the trade.
