Going to be hard to change stuff up that much when half our team is tied to NTC's.

I’m not sure if the emptiness I feel is from fully buying into the fraud that was this team that made regular season history (the money and the countless hours I devoted to it these last 6+ months), or if it’s a gnawing suspicion that it might be some time before I’ll enjoy this beautiful sport the way I have so many times until now. It’s an overreaction, of course. That’s the point of this thread, right? But I’m so disappointed and angry that watching any hockey right now feels like a sharp stick in the eye. I’m flipping around tonight’s games and it all looks nothing like the Lightning’s regular season romp. I’m sure it’s just my bitterness speaking, but every playoff game looks like a barely contained bar fight. And that gnawing pit in my stomach is the premonition that I won’t be looking forward to or enjoying next season. Not like I did these last two regular seasons. They were so much fun while they lasted. They made me feel certain another Cup was inevitable. They lied.

Default 16 minutes

Stammer had 16 minutes of ice time, that is just unbelievable. I have watched some of the other playoff games and I am sick watching the Bolts. They won’t go to the net nor work through the trap. This just sucks and so to does this leadership group. I don’t know what is going on in the room but whatever it is is not working and how about some passion from Cooper? How can you be so calm when you are being out coached? Ugh I agree with you Bolthed.
The refs must think we are a dirty team because we get no calls, we had no PP’s last night and expect none in G4.

Talking about the D that won't be back.

Title of this thread should be changed to The Anger Is Real. Angry that we all got sucked back in again believing that this group was different. If you go back to the Cup prediction contest, like 90% of us or more, picked the Lightning to be in the Cup finals and to win it all. I usually have NEVER done that, but again, after this season, I didn't see any team, at least in the East, who I felt could beat us 4 times out of 7. And now the first team we face has the chance to beat us 4 times out of 4.

This would have to rank as one of the epic collapses in the history of sports, if it is ranked comparing regular season results to post season results. I am more angry and sick to my stomach than feeling in pain. We've all invested a lot of emotion, some of us a lot of $$$, into this for the last 6 months, and to see it all be pissed away in a week? Not again...fool me once, shame on me.

They all appear to have no answers how to turn this around, and if they don't, none of us should have any confidence the series will return to Tampa.

It sucks but if they are going to lose I would rather they do it in a 4 game first round epic meltdown instead of another game 7 ECF. Saves me a lot of money and emotional investment plus it might cause the change that is obviously necessary instead of being able to blame puck luck, etc. on not breaking through again.

Assuming they lose this series, I wonder if they ever have the audacity to raise a President's Cup banner considering all the bitterness that now would be associated with it.

https://www.dispatch.com/sports/2019...f-nhl-playoffs

The Lightning set all kinds of franchise records with 62 wins, 128 points and three 40-goal scorers this year, but could become the first team in NHL history to win the Presidents Trophy and get swept out of the first round.

Woke up today and this was the first song I heard on the radio....Karma, hope so. (for some of you, not your song genre, but if we come back from this, perhaps there is something to it)

Post THAT in the locker room!!!!

At this point here is my advice:
Play D E S P E R A T E ever shift
WIN every shift
Do not allow a CBJ to enter the slot area without paying a physical price. At this point its worth a few penalties to get them out of their comfort zone.
Start Louie in net

IF we get punched out in the first round, perhaps Cooper/Brisbois need to watch this.
