if were are talking about goaltenders I personally believe that zhukov will be best pick. think he won't go high as Oettinger or dipietro.

as for d-men. give me one of those finnish d-men. I know there are all lefties but when I see foote I see a better Skating Version of gudbranson

Unfortunately, Foote seems like the kind of D that Yzerman has been drafting from the right side, because I don't like him.

So with that being the case, I hope we go center with our first round pick.

Our last few trade targets have been D now with Sergachev, Cernak, and Hajek. Add in Dotchin, Blujus, Koekkoek, Masin (understanding that one of KK or Dotchin may be gone in expansion) and I think we're looking deep enough there without using our 1st on a D. I'd rather see them draft some offensive skill at this point, as our farm has very little of that now.

The mock that shows Lilegren at 14 has us taking a D with literally every single pick in the draft. What I mean is, I don't think they really took into consideration anything to do with team/needs at all, and just through rankings up and then merged them with draft order lol.

one guy that really scares me is owen tippet. the guy can skate, this guy can shoot and has absolutely no clue what to do in the defensive zone. hockey-iq is very questionable

To some extent I agree, but I certainly think you generally draft a mix of positions, as well.

Also, I tend to lean more strongly on BPA in the first and maybe second rounds. Later on, positional drafting is completely viable as well, imo.

I say we flip a coin, there's a 50/50 chance Yzerman will just trade his 1st round pick later anyway =p

Default not much in BPa for this whole damn draft

are we fortunate to be picking 14 or cursed, we are right in the middle of a whole lot of not likely to be an impact for years to come which would therefore please SFY would it not?

I like Matthew Strome who will be rated 30ish, but is that any different than anyone ranked in the teens this draft? Won't be there in the second, but is 14 too early for him?

Really makes Pete's point of trading a 1 for Dumba, because this year just is not the year to make your team out of drafting.
