Default NHL looking at local streaming?

Sounds like it's very preliminary, but man I'd love this for when I'm stuck at work & a game is on.

The NHL believes it has a game-changer in convincing regional sports networks to embrace in-market streaming of live games — by extending the rights to mobile devices.

NHL Chief Operating Officer John Collins said the league is close to an agreement that would have many of its 24 U.S.-based teams launch in-market streaming of live games on both broadband and wireless platforms, marking a potential sea-change in the way fans can view local game telecasts.

If the local feed is offered for online viewing via laptop/desktop then this announcement would be more exciting to me. The idea of watching a game on my mobile makes me cringe at how after the game ends your phone will pretty much be dead. Period highlight would be great IMO but a full game is kinda iffy but good idea nevertheless.

My bad

I was at school and the article nor your quote would load but I had remembered hearing something about it on hfboards but didn't hear about the broadband streaming. I'll be sure to dig a little deeper next time.

Speaking of which:

Lightning to live stream Saturday's game

Apparently it's the same issue as last week - lots of radio conflicts - but this time we get video instead of just audio.
