Kucherov fired his agent after he signed the bridge deal, he wasn’t happy. I am not particularly worried, but I also don’t think the Kucherov negotiation is something to look back at for a sense of relief.

They are waiting on something, probably Marner. But...there are at least a dozen other really good RFA’s out there who haven’t signed yet either.

It’s also entirely possible they are working on extensions for next seasons RFA’s so that they know what they can offer Point. If you know Vasy wants 10M and not 7M than you may have to offer Point a different type of contract.

It’s called negotiations.

Yeah but maybe he declined because they were offering the same that Aho signed (about 8.5 AAV) and that wasn't enough. I would gladly take Point on that Aho deal, it would have probably been better for us if he signed an offer sheet similar to that the Lightning would have easily matched.

Someone out there can correct me if I'm wrong but this is how I understand it.
Elliotte Friedman reporting that Point declined to sign an offer sheet from Montreal.

As has been inferred and reported above, Point ain't going anywhere. Unless I'm sadly mistaken, this guy loves his boys and this town. And if he wants a Cup, which we're sure he does, where is he going to go?? It'll get done.

I am seeing speculation and rumors that Point may be traded to the Wings.

Hope there is no truth to where there is smoke there is fire.

I just can’t see that happening... for long stretches of the year he was our best center.
