As far as signing Stevie Y, think it will take much more than just throwing money at him. Have read and heard that he will only leave the Red Wings for the right situation for both him and his family. Holland is getting a 2-3 year extension as DRW GM, after that I think it is Stevie's job. Now if it were you would you jump ship to GM the Bolts or hang on for more 2-3 years, learn from one of the best and GM the Wings?
There must be something really wrong with Yzerman. Leaving Detroit (the city) should be a no brainer. Like leaving Fallujah. Or Newark.

there are some gorgeous areas just outside Detroit, which I am sure is where he lives. The summers up there are the best you will ever find. Add to the the freshwater boating and it is almost haven.

Really, homer? It's a fine place to live?

I was born in Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit and lived there for a few years as a kid and have visited over the years. I'm not a hater with no history there.

I'm sure that's true WW. But any place is good for the privileged and prosperous. And that's what Yzerman is. For working people, not so much.

Detroit, as in, within the city limits, is mostly a cesspool.

Metro-Detroit and southeastern Michigan is far from it. But mistakenly and misleadingly insulting the region and its people as a whole is much easier (especially for the media) than making such a distinction.

Lol are you really calling me a homer because I'm defending where I live?

And yes actually it's a great place to live, no Flycoons in sight.
