Default GDT 10/11/08: Game #3 - Hurricanes @ Lightning

I know it's early to be starting a game thread, but I think practice this week will be critical for getting the team prepared for the next game, and there's some news already leaking out.

Per EE... here are the lines in Wednesday's practice:

Malone - Lecavalier - St. Louis
Prospal - Stamkos - Vrbata
Roberts - Gratton - Hall
Artyukhin - Craig - Recchi
Extras: Ward, Koci

Krajicek not in town yet -- immigrating from Canada. Jokinen excused to attend to a personal matter.

Ryan Craig left practice about 20 minutes in, wincing in some sort of pain.

If this one is serious, I'm willing to bet his career is done.

Yeah, if it's more than a few days, he's done for. What a shame.

And Ward has a little more purpose now. But will these be the lines we see at the game? I still think it's premature to break up the MVP line, but that does put Vaclav with one of his countrymen, and maybe VP can feed Stamkos a beauty here and there. I also believe Recchi has more to offer than just the 4th line. Surely more than Roberst can offer on the 3rd. Recchi looked much better than Ronerts in camp that for sure.
Can't wait to see what the powerplay looks like....and anyone see if Ranger is suiting up for the game?

ANYONE: Have heard this before. Is Czech style reason to think players from there better together?

Czech line in New York (Dvorak-Nedved-The Good Hlavac)...

Even aside from that, I've heard it mentioned not necessarily Czech specific, but any countrymen outside of N.A. playing together sparks some energy from time to time.

I could also be a message that the "Best Line in Hockey" needs to play like the best line in hockey, or....

Well... I don't know about that. Jussi Jokinen was absent from practice, and he's a guy you can certainly slot into a center position in case Craig misses the home opener.

Shit I misread it, thought it meant Joki was excused from the game Saturday.

Ranger?
