I'm pretty certain that yesterday's announcement was going to be much bigger than just the logo / uniform...

Case in point, it came out today that the arena is now a Kayem hot dog venue. I'm not saying this to make a joke, it's more the fact I just think a lot of arena stuff and overall franchise stuff was going to be discussed yesterday - plans for the forum, changes, etc.

(and I found out about the Kayem hot dog thing through other bloggers. A PR firm sent the press release out, not the team). My friend Bryan at Hockeywilderness.com did a post about it:

(...because he didn't know WHY this was dumped on him in the first place)

It'll never happen, but I'd KILL for a Lafayette or National coney island dog --Dearborn Sausage Co.--llike you get almost anywhere around motown. If I still lived there, I'd weigh 250 'cause I'd be downing at least a dozen a week. :drools:

(Kayem's a pretty good dog though...)

SME Branding who was recently hired by the Lightning also lists the Wild as a client. It's possible they sent a press release to any NHL contact they had.

They are around. I'm a fan of Hebrew National dogs as well - the ones at Comerica Park make me forget I paid $5 for one, at least for a little bit.

the word is out and it is the new uniforms and improvements to the arena. Good article that makes me want 2011-2012 to be here now. Will love to see how they fix the place up.

Mixing in a touch of nostalgia as well, there's an old-time pipe organ coming.
Not a fan of the pipe organ, hate that thing at Rays games.

Not a fan of the jersey changes as read on paper. Maybe seeing them will change my mind.

Wow, wonder if Norfolk will follow suit and give their season ticketholders jerseys - that would be an incentive to become a season tickeholder!
