Honestly, I think Marner and Point are clearly on another level compared to the other guys, which makes Point signing for what he did stand out.

The Avs have agreed to terms with Mikko Rantanen. 6 years x $9.25 M aav

The Marner contract looks a bit better.

Did the Avs have a lot more cap room than normal?? I'd peg his real value at no more than $7m/yr. even for 6 years.

Around the AHL: Palm Springs, California, has been awarded an expansion AHL franchise, set to serve as the affiliate for NHL Seattle.

They are building a 10000 seat arena on Aqua Caliente ( Native American) land. I spend March down there. Western Canada folk in PS will generate at least 5k pergame during oct-March. I’ve emailed Lewieke pleading for The ECHL affiliate to be put in Reno. Fingers crossed.
