Default GDT: 3-25-11 Carolina vs ??????

Which team shows up tonight?

No GDT today. Are we too afraid to post one?

I'll be there tonight. Last NHL game that I will attend.

I would of had it up but today was the last day of the grading period so I had to cram in a couple of assignments before they wouldn't be accepted anymore

I wish..... Living in Seattle makes it a little tough to make it to the games. When I'm on vacation, I try to make it to as many games as I can.

I'll be honest... normally on game day, while I'm at work I'm geeked up, and look forward to getting home and getting ready to watch.

Today, not so much. It was more like, meh... Hopefully this the reverse-mojo thing kicking in and the turning of the corner begins.

Does it matter? This years team has played better than anyone expected it to. In all probability they are going to make the playoffs. That is a hell of accomplishment in one year with new management, first time NHL head coach and first time GM. An early exit is better than not going to the dance at all.
I am looking at the late season collapse as a good thing as it identifies problem areas that management will need to improve over the summer. You have Stevie Y for four more years he'll get you there.

Obviously it does to fans of this team who would like to see better than they've seen lately.

Found this in the Times article about Downie:

Quote:
The Lightning should get back another top-six forward in Ryan Malone (mid body injury) next week, with Boucher saying he's "perfect to go" but needs more work conditioning-wise.

MEDICAL MATTERS: The Lightning got encouraging news on D Randy Jones (high ankle sprain on left leg), with Boucher saying his recovery is a week ahead of schedule, meaning there's chance could be back before the playoffs. Jones' original timetable was four-to-six weeks, bringing him back April 11, but he got on the ice Friday to skate.

Well than expectation are too high for where the team has been the last couple years. Just be glad that the team built up a cushion of points early and can take the loses and still slide into the playoffs.

I mostly agree with that. Definitely good that they used the momentum earlier this season to its fullest. Expectations are too high in the big picture, but I think they were justifiably raised by the team's performance. When you have a team that was challenging for the President's Trophy fairly deep into the season it's hard to accept a low seed.
